Return Montana Colors and Motoring: discover all the sprays to paint rims, wheels, and brake calipersThe field of motoring is an area where spray paint is the fundamental method for applying paints and varnishes. The technical complexity of the different parts of the cars, the shapes of their design and, above all, the perfect aesthetic result expected for a vehicle are some of the qualities that make spray paint the go-to solution to paint any part of a motor vehicle. The first aerosol paints were, of course, developed for the specific use on vehicles. In any case, the experience, development and enthusiasm of Montana Colors for spray paint, applied in this sector, make our materials a safe bet for any task related to motoring.
Within the range of MTN PRO products dedicated to the motoring sector, there are two specific products that have been specially conceived for two very specific uses: the MTN PRO Paint for aluminum rims, and the MTN PRO Paint for brake calipers.
What is rim spray paint?
As its name suggests, MTN PRO Aluminum Rim Paint is a paint spray paint especially designed for painting aluminium wheels. It is a thermoplastic acrylic enamel formulated from very high-quality resins, which is also very fast drying. As its name also indicates, the formula in this wheel spray paint contains metallic inorganic pigments in its composition that give the painted surface the same appearance as aluminum. As it is one of the parts of the vehicle that is most affected by daily use, the paint boasts special adhesion and hardening, offering a shiny and long-lasting result, resistant to pressure washing.
How do you spray paint aluminium wheel rims?
Before painting any part of a car, it is essential to protect the parts that you don’t want to paint as a precaution. In this case, protecting the tires with masking tape and plastic film is best.
Next, you just have to shake the MTN PRO Aluminum rim paint spray for one minute after you hear the sound of the mixing ball, and paint with the can in a vertical position in fast, fine strokes at a 20cm distance.
One or two coats will be enough. For perfect results, wait 10 minutes between each one. In just 30 minutes you can remove the protection that you have used on the tire, since the paint will already be dry.
What is brake caliper spray paint?
Surely you have seen, in more than one occasion, a car or even a motorcycle show off yellow brake disc calipers. Many car manufacturers offer different colors of brake calipers among their high-performance variants. This phenomenon means that, in the world of tuning, it is common to paint the brake calipers of cars and motorcycles, since it gives the vehicle a sportier or, at least, different appearance. On many internet sites you will find alarming content about the hypothetical dangers to which the vehicle is exposed if the brake calipers are painted. Don't be scared, in all cases the basic problem is caused by using the wrong paint, and that is solved by the MTN PRO Paint spray for brake calipers.
It is an anti-heat paint spray specially designed to whistle the brake calipers of your car, offering unparalleled resistance and durability, which resists temperatures of up to 110 ºC.
How do you spray paint brake calipers?
As we have pointed out previously, protecting the parts that you don’t want to paint is essential, especially when you want to paint a part as specific as brake calipers. The most methodical option is removing the calipers to paint them independently from the rest of the vehicle after removing the wheels, but you can avoid this process if you properly protect the disc and the adjacent areas with masking tape and plastic. After cleaning all accumulated grease and dirt thoroughly, the painting process is the same as indicated in the instructions for the MTN PRO Aluminum Rim Paint. However, in this case, the paint will not be completely dry for the next 48 hours, at which point you can remove the protective tape and plastic. Remember that the quality of this product means that you don’t have to use primers or varnishes.
MTN PRO Brake Caliper Paint is available in 4 colors: Yellow, Red, Electric Blue and Metallic Blue.
These two unique products are just the tip of the iceberg for Montana Colors' MTN PRO motoring section. In this category you can find many other products related to the decoration and repair of vehicles such as the MTN PRO Multipurpose Vinyl Coating, the MTN PRO Heat-Resistant paint and the MTN PRO Textured Bumper Paint, in addition to the wide range of colors in the MTN PRO Metallic Paint range.
