Return Montana Colors Radiator Spray PaintWHY DO YOU NEED A RADIATOR PAINT?
If you want to paint a radiator, you could be forgiven for thinking that such a common household item wouldn’t require a special paint. However, this type of appliance, designed to produce heat, can create unwanted effects if you use a paint that is not formulated to cope with high temperatures. Staining, yellowing and peeling are the most common reactions.
That’s exactly why there’s a radiator spray paint, and Montana Colors manufactures it in a handy aerosol format. The laborious task of painting the metal contours becomes an easy, fast and fun process, with completely reliable and durable results.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE RADIATOR SPRAY PAINT
This product isn’t limited to steel or aluminum radiators: it is a product compatible with all types of radiators. The MTN PRO Radiator Paint is a satin paint spray with great resistance to high temperatures, specifically up to 100 ºC. Available in three traditional colors most commonly associated with the appliance – white, gray and beige – this paint does not yellow and has high opacity, excellent hardening and great resistance to scratching.
HOW TO PAINT A RADIATOR
First of all, if you want to paint a radiator, it’s best to do it at a time of year when you’re not going to use it, since this will make it easier to leave it off and ensure that the paint dries completely.
Once you get down to work, you should tape off all the parts that you don’t want to paint; from the floor and the wall to the faucet or the radiator drain.
Of course, you have to clean and degrease the surface of the device. For this job we recommend MTN PRO Ethyl Alcohol 70%. Any rust will also need to be removed with a wire brush. Sanding the entire surface gently is useful to open the pores of the original paint.
Next, you just have to shake the can for one minute, try out the distance and flow of paint on a test surface and paint while keeping the aerosol as vertical as possible. Remember that it’s better to apply several thin layers rather than one thick coat. Remember to respect the drying time between layers!
Once you’ve finished, remember that you can avoid clogging the nozzle by inverting the spray and spraying for a few seconds until the paint stops coming out, so you won’t need to change it for a new one the next time you use it.
When the spray is completely used up, don't forget that the can can be recycled.
