WHAT IS LUMINOUS PAINT?

Luminous or luminescent paint is a product that glows in the dark, frequently used for emergency signs and decoration in dark places. Thanks to its composition of pigments, it can be charged with natural or artificial light and glows when the lights go out. So, for this paint to glow in the dark, it needs to be charged beforehand.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FLUORESCENT AND LUMINOUS PAINT?

Both luminous and neon/fluor pigments are classed as photoluminescent paints. However, they have different properties. The fundamental difference between fluorescent and luminous paint is that the former doesn’t have its own luminescence, but reacts to light generating a peculiar glow. Luminous paint, on the other hand, can emit light by itself. Both luminous and fluorescent paint react to ultraviolet light, producing a powerful glow.

HOW TO USE MTN PRO LUMINOUS PAINT?

As usual, shake the spray for about a minute after hearing the sound of the mixing ball, then try it out on a test surface. To get optimal results, apply the product in several layers, leaving 10 minutes between each layer to let it dry. It’s always better to apply several thin coats than one thick one.

Because it’s a semi-transparent paint, we recommend applying it on a white paint base layer. On plastic materials, this will also serve as a primer.
