Return Discover Our Glass to Mirror Converter in Spray FormatGLASS TO MIRROR CONVERTER
One of the most impressive products in the entire MTN PRO range is the glass to mirror converter: a paint that transforms glass and other rigid transparent materials into mirrors. This aerosol contains chrome effect silver paint that provides a reflection of light practically equivalent to that of a mirror when applied on the opposite side of the surface.
Developing this spray product has been a great challenge to the R+D department, and the results have been optimized in the latest version of the product. As it’s a very special product, you need to follow these steps to use this tool correctly.
WHAT IS THE GLASS TO MIRROR CONVERTER USED FOR?
As you can imagine, this glass spray paint is designed to reproduce the properties of a mirror, in an easy and economical way, using your own creativity. However, its possibilities are endless. It’s a perfect product to decorate any transparent object, regardless of its shape or location. As well as its compatibility with windows and glass, you can also apply it to decorative containers, shop windows or any other transparent element that you want to give the properties of a mirror.
HOW TO TURN GLASS INTO A MIRROR
Here we detail how to transform a sheet of glass into a mirror with this tool from the MTN PRO range.
To begin with, you have to completely clean the surface you want to painted. We recommend using the MTN PRO Ethyl Alcohol 70% spray, which will help you remove stains, grease, dust or any other imperfection. You must be especially thorough in this aspect, since even a single speck of dust could spoil the work.
Remember that for the effect to work, you have to paint the opposite side of the transparent material that you want to convert into a mirror.
As usual, you should vigorously shake the spray paint for about a minute from when you first hear the noise of the mixer.
We then recommend trying out the spray on a test surface to practice painting.
The you should proceed to paint the surface by applying thin layers, making sure that it’s the opposite side to the one you want to use as a mirror. The aerosol comes complete with the Transversal Varnish cap, which helps this technique. It’s important to spray sparingly at a safe distance of about 20 cm to avoid drips. Wait five minutes for the paint to dry between each coat, applying a maximum of five coats. The application will be totally dry two hours after you use the product.
You can enhance the mirror effect by finishing off the work with a layer of matt black paint that completely prevents light shining through from the back - only necessary if you’re not going to mount the painted glass on a dark surface. To add this final coat, you can use any matt black MTN spray paint, from the 94, Hardcore, Water Based or MTN PRO ranges.
