Return Find Out How to Paint the Bumper of your CarHOW TO REPAIR AND PAINT YOUR CAR BUMPER WITH OUR BUMPER PAINT
The bumper is one of the most damaged parts of a car since, as its name suggests, it’s the part that cushions your car from bumps and scrapes with cars or other obstacles. That’s why it requires repair and repainting on a regular basis if you want your vehicle to maintain its perfect appearance. You can actually do this job yourself without paying a mechanic, thanks to the bumper paint, a specially designed product by Montana Colors.
SPECIAL NEEDS OF A BUMPER
Bumpers on modern cars are typically made of a piece of plastic that spans the width of the car at the front and rear. These parts have a rough black texture that is exactly what the MTN PRO bumper spray paint reproduces: a textured spray paint that leaves a perfect finish, exactly like a new bumper.
FEATURES OF THE MTN PRO TEXTURED PLASTIC BUMPER PAINT
As we’ve mentioned before, the MTN PRO section for motoring includes the MTN PRO Textured Plastic Bumper Paint, a spray paint formulated with high-quality nitrocombined resins. Thanks to its composition, fast drying and excellent flexibility, it is the perfect tool to restore your bumper in an easy, fast and enjoyable way.
FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO USE THE BUMPER PAINT
In order to use the Plastic Bumper Paint in the correct way, follow these steps
- - Surface cleaning:
If you want to repair a plastic bumper, first of all you have to thoroughly clean the entire surface to stop traces of dust, grease and dirt from interfering with the application of the product. For this, we recommend using the MTN PRO Ethyl Alcohol 70% and a cloth - its rapid evaporation means you won’t have to worry about moisture. You also need to mask off the parts of the car that you don’t want to paint.
- (optional) - Sanding:
If you find superficial scratches on the bumper, you should sand them down with fine grain sandpaper, starting with a coarse grain sheet if necessary (P-120 > P 240). After this, you should clean the entire surface of the bumper a second time.
- - Application of textured paint:
Following the same protocol as with practically all spray paints, vigorously shake the spray for a minute and apply thin and quick strokes at a distance of about 20 cm. We recommend trying out the flow on a test surface before applying it to the bumper. 10 minutes of drying between the two layers to be applied will guarantee a perfect finish.
After 20 minutes the paint will be dry and the protection placed on the rest of the vehicle can be removed.
Don't forget to clean the cap by spraying the aerosol in an inverted position until only gas comes out, so you don't have to buy a new one the next time you need to use the product.
OTHER PRODUCTS TO REPAIR YOUR CAR
As you can see, Montana Colors has designed a specific product that serves as an easy, fast and cheap solution to a problem that usually requires expensive help. But this aerosol isn’t the only one designed for this area of work: in the motoring section of MTN PRO you’ll find a series of spray products that allow you to carry out different repairs or changes to improve the appearance of your vehicle - on your own, without spending much money.
