Return MTN Mints its First NFT with a Piece by Piero MaturanaThe Montana Gallery in Barcelona joins forces with the NFT Street Art Collective to produce its first NFT featuring a piece Piero Maturana, available since 12 November at 12 noon CET.
The evolution towards authenticated digital artwork is well underway and Montana Colors announces its entry into the NFT market with a drop that best reflects its brand values. The first piece comes from the the Chilean artist Piero Maturana, whose exhibition “Intersticios” is currently on show at the Montana Gallery Barcelona.
The first drop by Piero Maturana was made 12 November at 12 noon CET, containing five copies of the piece, which takes the form of an animated version of his trademark portraits. This and subsequent Montana Colors NFTs will be hosted on the Mintbase of the NFT Street Art Collective. This platform has been chosen for its use of the NEAR Protocol, a blockchain based cryptocurrency that is a greener alternative to other currencies.
The release promises to be the first of a series of drops featuring collaborations with the graffiti, street and modern pop artists that are invited to exhibit at the gallery curated by Anna Dimitrova. More limited edition MTN brand drops and surprises are in the works.
The NFT Street Art Collective is a newly-created UK/Barcelona-based platform managed by a Decentralized Autonomous Organization. The collective have so far minted work by artists such as Ron English, Justin Case, Bubbles, Tim Marsh, Turkesa, Joan Tarragó, Mr. Thoms and Tara McPherson among others.
The announcement of the drop coincides with the news that the “Intersticios” exhibition by Piero Maturana has been extended to 26th November. You can visit the show at the Montana Gallery Barcelona for free during its normal opening hours: from 10 am to 9 pm, Monday to Saturday.
