Return Montana Colors at Madrid Art Week 2020
MTN@MAW20Once again, Madrid's art week has shaken the creative landscape far and wide, through the exhibitions and events held all throughout the capital. And also once again, Montana Colors has contributed to this hatching of talent with its own program of activities, baptized for this occasion as MTN@MAW20.
Under this colorful umbrella, our most loyal followers were able to keep track of what we were up to, whether visiting by the Montana Gallery Barcelona stand or the Tramontana Magazine stand at the Urvanity Art fair located at the COAM, or discovering the quality work by Alicia Martín López with her Savage Garden exhibit in the Lobby Art Gallery of the Hotel Emperador right in the middle of Gran Vía, organized by Nagare Art Projects.
But that wasn’t all, by a long shot. If we had to pinpoint a single event from this week of art in the capital, one that was special and already ingrained in our memories, it would revolve around the presence of the infamous documentress of graffiti, Martha Cooper. She responded to our invitation to attend the premiere of a documentary based on her life and work, “Martha: A Picture Story,” directed by the Australian Selina Miles. Montana organized a screening at the Verdi Cinemas, filling the auditorium with an audience that was as enthusiastic as they were grateful, including some of the leading names in graffiti and street art.
Hours before, Martha attended to a legion of fans and signed dozens of posters, patiently dedicating them to anyone who approached the Montana Shop Madrid to pick up their invites for the screening. It was an all-out event, complete with her fans and their selfies, tags, and also the predictable queue to meet the legendary photographer. This all made for the perfect context for presenting the fourth installment of Tramontana Magazine.
And as a grand finale of these intense days, Martha Cooper participated alongside Zane Meyer of Chop’Em Down Films and photographer Enric Escandell, in a talk at Urvanity Fair.
