Return Montana Colors in South Korea: Art on Wheels at Urban Break FestivalThe Korean saying "고생 끝에 낙이 온다" translates into English as "after hardship comes happiness," a proverb that conveys the idea that perseverance will eventually lead to a positive result or reward.
This concept, this idea, has been perfectly reflected in the work carried out by the artists participating in the two editions of Urban Break that took place last year in the South Korean cities of Seoul and Busan: both festivals had the collaboration and sponsorship of Montana Colors.
From the memorable July 2023 edition in the country's capital, among the numerous activities led by talented artists, we would highlight the “Kaws: Unveiled” exhibition together with the "Art Toy Village" and "The Art of Hip Hop" sections – co-curated with the Miami Museum of Graffiti – or the Jason Naylor intervention.
The Conference and Exhibition Center of the city of Busan 'BEXCO', took over in mid-December and became the nucleus of contemporary urban art and culture in the region hosting Urban Break X-Mas, an event that, again, was an ode to creativity, and Montana Colors, through our distributor Homi Art Shop, was present leaving a powerful imprint!
Let's imagine: two editions of a one-of-a-kind festival, one in the heat wave and the other in winter - with a Christmas theme - where urban art, graffiti, art-toys, pop art, works made using AI and DJ sets, set up the program of a creative madness to make your jaw drop.
The most striking thing about the most recent event was undoubtedly the Streetart and Live Graffiti area in cars, where artists such as Semitr, Cloakwork, Koma, Artime Joe or Rukkit, expressed their talent and creativity on the vehicles.
Urban Break X-Mas in Busan took us, over the course of three days, to a terrain beyond what one might expect from a simple exhibition, in an experience that immersed visitors in the territory of art in a different way, blending the spirit of winter with the Christmas vibe.
And the city of Busan is unequivocally committed to creativity, art and graffiti: so much so that even the South Korean automobile giant Hyundai Motor Group recently deployed a fleet of art cars wrapped in a colorful graffiti design with Busan symbols - such as seagulls and the Gwangan Bridge, as well as the slogan "BUSAN is Ready" - in cities including New York and Paris, in the latest efforts to promote the city's bid to host the 2030 World Expo, honor which will finally fall to Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
Montana Colors' presence in creative and quality initiatives and events in Asia is a testament to the global reach of our brand. By collaborating with renowned festivals in this region and international exhibitions, Montana Colors continues to push boundaries and take our products - inherently associated with an artistic legacy - throughout the world.
Our support of creativity and artistic expression, especially in places as dynamic as South Korea, not only reflects our commitment to the global art community, but also inspires writers, artists, art enthusiasts and our distributors, to explore new horizons by encouraging them to leave their unique imprint on the vast canvas of the creative world.
