Return "No two days are ever the same", Interview with Sergio Salmerón, Warehouse ManagerSergio Salmerón is one of the most charismatic workers at Montana Colors. After 14 years of working in our company, he’s currently at the MTN HUB serving as a Warehouse Manager. The time has come to get to know this cherished person a little better.
As we know, each person is different, so what are your hobbies?
My hobbies are basically to not stop learning and to have a good time with good company and enjoying time with my family.
You joined the company in 2009... What brought a guy like you to a company like this?
It’s a long time and the years have passed quickly. The truth is that, like any other 21-year-old, I was looking for a job in any sector with a lot goals: to have a stable and friendly job and to gain experience in a sector I didn't know. This allowed me to achieve what I have today: a house, raising a family and surviving, haha.
In regard to your time when you’re not at the company, how do you enjoy spending it?
Basically, I dedicate it to my children and my wife and, whenever I can, I am very much into surrounding myself with people and having a good time.
We know you are passionate about soccer and motorcycles... tell us who your favorite player and rider is and why.
My favorite player, I have several, but for me Luka Modrić has a lot of class and technique. As a motorcycle racer I really like Marc Márquez, he always takes risks and makes us enjoy motorcycling, even if sometimes he goes too far...
Your job as a warehouse manager must have some challenges that we are not aware of, could you tell us about some of them?
I have been in this position for almost 2 years and the truth is that I am very motivated to grow professionally within the company and I always like to grow on a personal level as well.
What is your greatest strength and biggest weakness?
My greatest strength is perhaps that I always want to improve and experience new challenges, and my biggest weakness is perhaps that I don't always take things so seriously.
What motivates you to get up in the morning and come to work?
Most of the time every day at work is a challenge. No two days are ever the same, I like that.
Being a company dedicated to the world of spray paint, with a large part dedicated to graffiti... has your vision of this world changed in your daily life? Has it evolved since you came into contact with it?
It has evolved especially that it is now seen more as an art. In addition, the range of products for it has expanded a lot and all this has happened worldwide.
With which other department do you have the closest relationship within the company?
With logistics and offices...in this position you’re in contact with everyone.
How do you imagine your life and that of the company in a few years?
I hope, just like up to now, to be evolving at a good pace along with both the company and personal challenges.
What do you like the most about your job and what do you think could be improved?
What I like the most about the company is that we are always moving forward and always improving, despite the difficulties that we have been facing, there is always room for improvement in many aspects. An example of this would be a larger storage and order preparation space, although I know that it is already in the company's plan. I would like to collaborate with this improvement, little by little we are optimizing many things within the company that will pay off in the long run.
