WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN METALLIC AND CHROME SPRAY PAINT?

One of the most unique finishes in the field of decoration is the chrome effect paint. The main difference compared to other metallic paints is the powerful refraction that it generates, resulting in very intense type of shine caused by the mirror effect that is produced on the surface you paint. 

This type of finish is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after, thanks to the surprising and attractive effect it provides: objects painted with this product appear to gain the qualities of a precious metal.

In order to achieve this type of finish through traditional means, professional electrolysis treatment is required: impossible without specialized equipment. However, Montana Colors has developed a product that mimics the results of this complicated process. 

The MTN PRO Chrome Effect Paint is a chrome spray paint that has all the advantages of the aerosol format, as well as boasting a uniform finish comparable to to industrial chrome plating processes.

METALLIC EFFECT PAINT FEATURES

This metallic effect paint is designed to reproduce the shine typical of objects made of silver, gold or copper. Those are precisely the three-color options: silver chrome metal effect paint, golden chrome metal effect paint and copper chrome metal effect paint.

Unfortunately there’s a drawback to this amazing finish, namely its poor resistance to weathering and rubbing. That’s why we recommend its use strictly for indoor decoration. What’s more, due to its chemical qualities, the chrome effect paint can’t be varnished, as this step would alter the result of its finish.

Despite these minor drawbacks, the Montana Colors metallic effect spray dries very quickly, has great covering power and good adhesion.

HOW DO USE THE MTN CHROME SPRAY PAINT?

Using the MTN PRO Chrome Effect Paint is the same as using most other spray paint: shake the chrome spray paint well before spraying fast, fine strokes at a distance of about 20 cm. For the specific case of this type of paint, we recommend previously painting the desired object with MTN PRO Black paint. This base will serve to enhance the chrome effect paint that you apply.

Remember, once you’re through painting, you should invert the can and press down on the cap until the paint stops coming out to help prevent clogging. Don’t forget to recycle the can in the right place once it’s empty.
