Return B-Murals open B-Local with 80 Barcelona artistsB - L O C A L opened on Friday 13th of November at B-Murals (C/ Ferran Turné 1-11, Nau 02, La Sagrera), the Barcelona centre for muralism, graffiti and street art; welcoming over 1000 pre-registered visitors over the inaugural weekend.
The exhibition showcases 80 names which collectively make up the fabric of the urban art scene in the city, from established names to the current crop of artists producing large scale public pieces.
Highlights of work on show at the B - L O C A L event include the gothic imagination of Miss Van and Socatoba; the portraits by Ru8icon, Miquel Wert and Jaume Montserrat; comic inspired pieces by Sawe, gr170 and Jay Bisual; champions of female graffiti Yubia, Laia and Musa; and abstract sculpture of Kenor, Spogo and Dunja Jankovic.
Maria Capdevila and Octavi Serra, who had previously taken part in the “Change Is A Team Sport” project hosted by B-Murals and published by Tramontana, also form part of the exhibition.
The opening weekend offered the public the chance to see two murals in progress, from the imagination of Zane Prater. Further live painting dates for the diary feature Socatoba on the weekend of 4 and 5 December with El Dios de los Tres and Yubia also due to produce interventions at the B-Murals outdoor mural gallery.
The impressive collection of artwork is housed at the exhibition spaces of the refurbished warehouse complex known as Nau Bostik in La Sagrera neighborhood, is open to the public every day until the 23rd January, from 11am to 7pm. You can now visit without prior reservation, bearing in mind that the reduced capacity of the exhibition hall is 15 people, so short queues are possible.
B - L O C A L is the latest of a series of events organised at the B-Murals space with the support of Montana Colors.
