Return Use Our Canvas Varnish in Spray FormatA SPRAY VARNISH ESPECIALLY FOR CANVASES
Apart from applying paint and primers, aerosols are also the best way to apply varnishes. The spray produced by this type of tool produces a fast, even and professional finish, without having to use, clean and store brushes.
The MTN PRO range of varnishes includes a product specifically developed for varnishing paintings on canvas: the MTN PRO Canvas Varnish.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CANVAS VARNISH
This product is designed to work as a final layer that protects paints used on canvases for works of art. So, as well as being an excellent varnish for acrylic paintings, it’s also a varnish designed compatible with oil paintings. The layer of varnish applied to the surface will protect the paint against handling, humidity, dust, UV rays and any other element in the atmosphere that could deteriorate the work, like grease or pollution.
VARIATIONS OF THE TRANSPARENT CANVAS VARNISH
This MTN PRO protective product is available in three different finishes: matt, glossy and satin varnish for canvases.
HOW TO VARNISH AN ACRYLIC OR OIL PAINTING ON CANVAS
Using the MTN Canvas Varnish Spray is as easy as using any other spray paint. First shake the can vigorously for one minute from the moment you start to hear the noise of the mixing ball.
Make sure that the painting you want to varnish is completely dry. After cleaning the surface, apply thin layers onto it at a distance of about 20 cm.
As always, we recommend spraying the aerosol in an inverted position after use to prevent the cap from clogging so you don’t have to change it for a new one next time you use it.
Remember that MTN aerosols are made with recyclable material, so once the product is used up, dispose of the container in the correct container, following local recycling regulations.
PRECAUTIONS WHEN VARNISHING OIL PAINTINGS
Oil is a paint that can take months to dry depending on how thick the layer is. That’s why we recommend making a small test, taking into account the instructions of the manufacturer of the paint itself, before varnishing oil paintings.
FINE ARTS, ANOTHER CATEGORY OF THE MTN PRO
MTN PRO aerosols are classified for crafts and decoration, motoring, industry, signage and marking. We also have a dedicated section for materials designed for use in fine art. That’s where you can find the gesso primer, which serves as the first layer for the canvases, and the fixative lacquer, which protects work done on paper using materials like charcoal and wax.
